The Youth, Adolescent, Reflection and Action Centre (YARAC), alongside its consortium partners, recently participated in an advocacy visit to the Plateau State Peace Building Agency (PPBA) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen humanitarian assistance for displaced and conflict-affected communities across Plateau State.
The engagement brought together representatives from Christian Aid, ActionAid, JDPC Jos, WOCCI, and YARAC to reinforce collaboration with the Agency in delivering coordinated humanitarian interventions in Bassa, Barkin Ladi, and Riyom Local Government Areas.
The advocacy visit focused on strengthening partnerships that support peacebuilding, protection, and effective humanitarian response for communities affected by conflict and displacement. Discussions highlighted the importance of coordinated action, information sharing, and strategic collaboration in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations while promoting long-term stability.
The Plateau State Peace Building Agency plays a critical role in advancing peace, fostering social cohesion, and strengthening early warning systems that help prevent and mitigate conflict across the state. The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment among partners to work closely with government institutions in delivering timely humanitarian assistance and supporting community resilience.
The collaboration also emphasized the importance of building stronger partnerships that not only respond to immediate humanitarian needs but also create pathways for sustainable peace and recovery. By working together, government agencies and civil society organizations can enhance protection for vulnerable populations while strengthening local capacity for conflict prevention and response.

The project is implemented through a partnership involving Christian Aid, ActionAid, JDPC Jos, WOCCI, and YARAC, with support from the START Fund.
